The English Faculty Provided The Students With A Plethora Of Opportunities To Showcase Their Talent In Public Speaking, Critical Thinking, Debating, Quizzing And Creative Writing. Our Students Participated In The Following Competition/activities:
i. Virtual Inter-School Debates:
- The India Today Cup-2020, Organised By Vasant Valley School, New Delhi, The Rajmata Gayatri Devi Memorial Debate Organised By MGD, Jaipur, Silver Jubilee Commemorative Young Thinkers' Conclave, 2021 Organised By Mayo Girls School, Ajmer, 47th All India Platinum Jubilee Memorial Inter- School English Debate, Organised By The Scindia School, Fort, Gwalior, Lumiere Inter-School English Debate Organized By Wynberg-Allen School, Mussoorie In September 2020 And International Schools Debate Competition, Organised By Rotary Club In India.
- ACROPOLIS 2020, A Knowledge Conclave Organised By Mount Litera Zee School, Amritsar In Which Aadil Sharda Was Adjudged As The Best Speaker Of The Turncoat Round, 6th Asfandyar Bukhari Declamation Forum 2021, Organised By Cadet College, Hasanabdal, Pakistan In The Month Of January 2021, TEDx Event Organized By Maa Anandmayee Memorial School (MAMS), Raiwala In November 2020.
- Early This Year A Virtual Asia Level Debate Was Organised In Collaboration Of Alliance University And IEducationalize, The Former Being The Host.
- Simar Singh Gabadia Was Adjudged As The Best Speaker In Round 2. It Is Worth A Mention That He Was The Only Indian Student Who Made It To The Top Four Finalists.
- Abhiraj Bhatia Was Given A Special Mention For His Incredible Performance In Word Wars 2.0 Inter-School Debate, Hosted By Notion Negotiations. Team Sanawar Was Runners-up And Kahkashan Sehgal Was Adjudged As The Best Speaker.
- Iknoor Kaur Secured The First Position And Gayatri Sud Secured Consolation Prize in An Inter-School English Declamation Competition Talking Titans hosted By Anand School, Parwanoo Under The Banner Of Solan Sahodaya.
ii. A Six Day Long Online Workshop On Developing English Debating Skills For Interested Students Was Organised From 2nd March To 6th March, 2021 By The Dias Group.
A Puppetry Workshop Was Conducted By Dadi Padumji Of Ishara Theatre Trust And A Calligraphy Workshop Was Organized For Prep School Children.
iii. Our Students Participated In Various Essay Writing Competitions, Such As Queen S Commonwealth Essay Writing Competition, South Korea: My Favourite Holiday Destination And Gandagi Mukt Bharat . A Future Without Plastic Waste- Through Sustainability And Circularity essay Entries Were Invited By The Office Of The Director Of Higher Education, Shimla.
If I Were Gandhi Essay Writing Competition Is An Annual Feature For L VI And U VI Students.
To Commemorate The Birth Anniversary Of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel An Essay Writing Competition Was Conducted In All Classes On 31st October Last Year As Per The CBSE Guidelines.
UNESCO-Commemoration Of International Day Against Violence And Bullying Was Observed In The School On 5th November 2020 As Per The Directions From CBSE. Students Delivered Speeches, Read The Brochures And Watched The Presentations During Classes.
iv. The Faculty Of English Conducted The First Ever Sanawar Virtual Lit Fest In November 2020. The School Enactment Team Comprising Esha Malhotra, Aadil Sharda, Ranvez Dhawan And Arushi Thakur Won The Second Prize. Shanaya Malhotra And Veer Devgan Won The First And Third Prize Respectively In Storytelling.
Ravinandini Singh Chauhan And Arooshi Bhatia Have Won The Excellence Award In Poetry Composition And Recitation In Inter-School Virtual IPSC Lit Fest Organized By Rajmata Krishna Kumari School, Jodhpur. Our Students Also Participated In An Inter-School Virtual Art Festival Held By Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar And Literary Conclave Held By Mayo Girls School, Ajmer.
v. Regular English Debating Society Meetings And Lit Club Meetings Were Conducted. Inter-House Debates And Declamation Contests Are A Regular Feature Of The School Calendar. As Part Of The English Faculty Activities Public Speaking Was Conducted For L IV To U VI Students, Leading To The Selection Of The Best House For The Catherine Longman Prize. International Reading Day And Reading Month Were Observed.
vi. Inter-Section English Storytelling, Extempore, Poetry Recitation And Spell Bee Competitions For Lower III To Upper IV Were Held.
vii. On The Occasion Of Teachers' Day, Crejo.Fun Hosted An Online Poem Writing Competition Wherein Our Junior Students Participated.
26th National Reading Day And National Reading Month 2021 Were Observed To Encourage Students To Read. Online Reading Sessions Were Organised.
JAM (Just- A- Minute) Speaking Round Was Conducted For L V Students
A Webinar On Career In Cinema was Organised On 10th April, 2021 For U V And U VI Students.
Mr. Iqbaal Rizzvi (OS- N 87) A Noted Film Maker, Director Of Fashion Shows And Some Very Big TV Shows Helped Young Sanawarians See Their Future In The World Of Visual Media - Film Making And Cinema With His Very Stimulating Talk Followed By A Brief Interaction With The Students.
The Fourth And Fifth Issues Of Student Led Digital School News-letter, The Red Roof Oscen were Released.
The School Yearbook The Sanawarian 2020 Has Been Conceptualized, Compiled And Released.
