Weak students are placed on the HouseMaster's/Headmaster's List and are helped to do remedial work in their weak subjects. A copy of the Assessment Card is sent to the parents. At the end of each term a statement of marks and comments by the subject teachers are also sent to the parents.
The School has an upto date library with a substantial collection of books and periodicals on a wide variety, accumulated over the years.

MATHEMATICS LABORATORY |
[Faculty Of Mathematics] |
SCOPE AND NEED |
Study of Mathematics theory imparts knowledge, while the experimentation supports, confirms and makes the concepts clear. Experimentation is also necessary to develop competencies and skills such as handling of Equipment, open mindedness, team work, sharing, reasoning and analysis etc.
Mathematics needs to be learnt with a sense of joy and delight.
Mathematics is a way of organizing our experiences in managing the system. Introduction of practical work in this area enriches our understanding and enable us to communicate and make sense of our experiences. We get an opportunity to use Mathematics as a tool to tackle the problems in other subjects like Science, Geography etc.
It also gives us enjoyment and we can meet different challenges in real life. The practical approach in this field can describe and explain the crux of any real life problem and predict the future events.
It helps build interest and confidence among the students in learning the subject. It allows student to think, discuss and assimilate the concepts in better manner through group learning.
It provides students an opportunity to understand and internalise the basic concepts through concrete situations.
As they say: “Problem understood means problem half – solved”.
It lays down a sound base for more abstract thinking.
Activity gives greater scope of participation to the individual and hence encourages students to become Autonomous learners.
“An activity involves both mind and hands of the student working together, which facilitates Cognition”.
So it is important to introduce Mathematical Laboratory in schools.
With this in mind, we at Sanawar decided on the guidelines from CBSE to establish a Mathematics Laboratory in our School.
It started working from the beginning of the 2005 session but now it has been put to full use as we have scheduled every class up to class - X to have two Laboratory classes every week. The students of these classes wait eagerly for the day and the period when they have a class in the Laboratory. They wait inquisitively to see the various activities demonstrated to them by the teachers and then they love to try their own hands and brains on these activities.
After summer - vacations every student brings in Projects.
